According to local Austrian news new youth center building was stolen from the Austrian village of Traismauer. Namely the prepacked building was delivered to the village in boxes ready to be put up the day after. But when workers arrived at the building site it was gone.

Now the plans for new anti-crime youth center are on hold due to this theft. Kind of ironic, don’t you agree?

Local authorities came up with the idea since a recent wave of vandalism and theft in this area had been blamed on youths. This was supposed to keep them off the streets.

Mayor Johann Gorth said “the new youth centre planned to give kids something else to do and get them involved in something positive.”

According to the police some of the children that the youth centre was aimed at helping may have been involved in the theft: “… there is a possibility that the thieves were youngsters who were well aware of the plans for the youth centre.”

The crime is still being investigated.
